A Morning Routine for the Soul

A Morning Routine for the Soul

The alarm rings. For many of us, the immediate instinct is to grab the phone, scroll through emails, and check the news. Before our feet even hit the floor, we are already inundated with the world's demands. But how you start your day sets the tone for everything that follows.

By implementing a few small rituals, you can transform your morning into a time of renewal and preparation. Here is the S.S.S. framework I use to ground my soul.

1. Silence (5 Minutes)

Before the noise of the day begins, sit in silence. This isn't about emptying your mind, but centering it. Listen to your breath. Acknowledge the gift of a new day. Resist the urge to plan your schedule immediately.

2. Scripture (10 Minutes)

Instead of social media, spend time reading something that uplifts you. Whether it's the Bible, a devotional, or poetry, fill your mind with truth before the world fills it with noise.

"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love..."

3. Scribing (Journaling)

Writing is a way of thinking. Take a few minutes to write down three things you are grateful for, or dump your anxieties onto the page so you don't have to carry them all day. This practice of "scribing" helps to organize your inner world.

Movement & Nourishment

Finally, connect with your body. Drink a full glass of water. Stretch. Remind your physical self that it is safe and awake. These simple acts are not just tasks; they are a liturgy of self-care.

"Share this with someone who needs a little peace today."
